“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see whether what Paul said was true.” (NIV)
As a Christian, I knew that the dismal financial state of many believers is inconsistent with the Scripture that followers of Jesus Christ should be the light of the world. However, rather than being ‘light’ in financial darkness many Christians are burdened by debt.
Initially, I believed that financial knowledge would reconcile the discrepancy between God’s Word and the financial plight of too many Christians. However the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the root cause of the financial state of Christians is a lack of knowledge of God’s Word.
Like many Christians I did not know that the Bible addressed personal financial management. As I studied the Word I was amazed and delighted to learn that the Bible contains principles for earning, spending, saving, investing and giving.
Through this blog I will share these biblical principles. And, I invite you to read the Scriptures and join the discussion. As we search the Scriptures together we will attain the knowledge and understanding God’s Word admonishes us to get (Prov. 6:3).
